St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church is a central landmark in Weslaco. On December 11, 1921, the St. Joan of Arc chapel was established as the first Catholic place of worship to accommodate the burgeoning population of Weslaco, Texas. Coincidentally, in 1920, St. Joan of Arc, the revered virgin saint of France, had just been canonized.
Today the community of St. Joan of Arc under the spiritual guidance with Fr. Francisco J. Solis continues to grow in faith and love.
Saint Joan of Arc, Holy Maiden of God, intercede for us, that we may possess the same faith and bravery as you. Amen.
As disciples and witnesses of Jesus Christ, strengthened by the Holy Spirit, we, the parish of St. Joan of Arc, dedicate ourselves to following His mandate. We aim to spread the Good News to all we meet, fostering a loving and welcoming community in Weslaco, and endeavoring to fulfill God's divine will.
